For more than a few years I have been visiting the dollar general in Robert, La (we are at the campgrounds literally always), among other dollar general locations, and I must say, this store in Robert is, BY FAR the absolute BEST store in their company! A LOT of the Dollar General stores are dirty, cluttered, and just not very well maintained. Add that to the generally uncaring and less than motivated staff, and you have exactly the shopping experience that most people associate with the "discount" grocery stores. Not at this store!!! The staff are always helpful, courteous, respectful, and have just an overall "thank you for coming" attitude. I don't want to name any names but, the employees at this store are on the ball!!! And, unlike most Dollar General stores, they are VERY SELDOM out of anything (within reason) and their shelves are ALWAYS FULL! There's never the carts, or whatever their inventory comes in on, blocking the isles,and the place just seems clean! The reason we feel that this store is a local business helping locals, is because if you stand in the front for a few minutes, you will notice the staff actually calling customers by name,showing they actually take time to get to know the customers, they greet EVERYONE that walks through the door, and we experienced first hand the fact that the manager will do WHATEVER POSSIBLE, to cater to the needs/wants of their customers by ordering (when possible) special items by request. Basically, they treat you like family and make you feel like they are happy to help! Thanks for considering my message and recommendation, as it is very true and well earned!!!
