Happy 100th Birthday to Dr. Opal Lee!

Known as the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” Dr. Lee spent years walking, organizing, and gathering support to help make Juneteenth a federal holiday, a goal that started with her historic walk in 2016 and became a reality in 2021.

And at 100, she’s still showing up for the work and her community.

Today, we celebrate Dr. Opal Lee and 100 years of life.
