You’ll find information about Private Duty Nursing (PDN), the difference between EPSDT and the CCC+ Waiver, upcoming Community Christmas Store application dates, and two inclusive sports opportunities — Buddy Ball in Covington and All in Hoops adaptive basketball in Roanoke. 🏀⚾️

💙 The Blue Envelope & Beyond: We Need YOU!

The conversation is growing, and so is the list of organizations joining us for The Blue Envelope & Beyond: A Community Conversation on Autism, happening Saturday, October 24, from 9:00 AM–1:00 PM at the Berglund Center.

This event is about more than the Blue Envelope. It is about bringing individuals with autism, families, caregivers, resource providers, advocates, and public-safety professionals together in the same space to learn from one another, make connections, and build greater understanding.

We are excited to already have participation from ASPire, Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare (BRBH), DARS, DePaul, and Valley Autism Assessments, to name a few, and our list of speakers, panelists, and resource providers continues to grow!
But this is where YOU can help us make this conversation even stronger.

🔹 Resource providers & community organizations: Join us as a vendor and share the programs, services, and support available to individuals and families.
🔹 Families, caregivers & individuals with autism: Come learn about resources, ask questions, connect with providers, and help us better understand the experiences that matter to you.
🔹 Professionals & advocates: Participate in our conversations and roundtable discussions. Your knowledge and perspective can help families navigate services and help our community identify where greater awareness is needed.
🔹 Law enforcement, 911 & Fire/EMS: We want you at the table, too. Participate in conversations and interactive scenarios designed to explore how communication, preparation, patience, and understanding can lead to safer, more positive interactions. ** Across all localities**

The Blue Envelope is a tool, but the conversation cannot stop with the envelope. By bringing the community and public safety together, we can learn from one another, identify helpful resources, practice real-world interactions, and continue building relationships before an emergency or encounter occurs.
