Hey Everyone!

I hinted in a previous email about putt-putt this week for high school and middle school but to keep with the schedule and avoid last minute confusion, only High School Youth Group will be meeting this week at 6pm.

This Wednesday is BRING YOUR FAVORITE CEREAL NIGHT! We will supply the milk, you supply your favorite cereal! We will do some getting to know each other games and hang out till 7:30.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Peace,

Hey teen families!

We are so thrilled to reintroduce to you a brand new youth ministry for high school here at the Basilica that just launched this past summer: "To the Heights!" or TTH!

"To the Heights!" is a co-ed teen scripture study for high schoolers (8th grade+) that meets once a month on Sunday evenings during the school year, 6:30-8:30pm and will begin being TEEN TEAM LED. We are kicking things off THIS SUNDAY at the tail end of the parish picnic with all the details at 2:30 pm! Just come!

Canonized one year ago YESTERDAY, Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati is the inspiration behind our name, as he is the patron saint of students and young adults, of adventure, as well as hikers, and is known as “A Man of the Beatitudes”.

For this study, think outside projector screens (maybe a fire pit), kicking back in your own cozy chair or blanket this fall at a gracious host's home or backyard, enjoying something great to snack on, and even better fellowship with other Catholic teens!

We are launching a teen-specific study on the Gospel of Mark from Loyola Press, meeting monthly Oct-Nov and Jan-April. Each month, a team of 3-4 high school teens will be coached on how to lead one lesson from the study to include a fun activity, videos and/or music selections, discussion questions on scripture (the study provides plenty!), and small group breakouts. Can we say... fellowship?!

Come and hear about what all is in store after much planning and discernment from your fearless leader group ;)
Happening this Sunday at 2:30, towards the end of the parish picnic that we already hope you are coming to! Again, just come! There may be prizes....

Parents, we will need volunteer host homes each month, and here is that sign-up link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0A4BA9AF29A0F85-65667247-tothe

Lastly, the book is $10.99 on both Amazon and Loyola Press, but we have depleted some of their inventory, so go ahead and order yours now! https://www.amazon.com/dp/0829420827?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title or https://store.loyolapress.com/six-weeks-with-the-bible-for-catholic-teens-mark

Please keep this new ministry in your prayers, and we very much hope to see you Sunday at 2:30! Look for the TTH table!

We at the Basilica of St. Andrew are so excited to introduce the new high school ministry "To the Heights!"

"TTH” is a co-ed teen bible study that launched this summer, initially with a weekly drop-in format that will pivot to MONTHLY this fall as we start our new teen study "Getting to Know Jesus through the Gospel of Mark" from Loyola Press. (Available at
https://store.loyolapress.com/six-weeks-with-the-bible-for-catholic-teens-mark
or on Amazon, both priced at $10.99 as of this posting.)

BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
TELL US 📣 which night of the week would work better with existing schedules and commitments:
SUNDAY or MONDAY? (Once a month, Sept-Nov; and then Jan-April.)
Please take our super short survey to identify which night works for the majority of teens interested in participating. The QR code in this week's bulletin also takes you to: https://forms.gle/g4QjKpiGbqYWaNis7

Monthly locations will vary and are TBA at volunteer host homes but will always have two VIRTUS-trained Adults provided by TTH, in attendance. Study on either night would be from 7-8:30pm, with fellowship beginning at 6:30pm.
..Think outside projector 📽️screens (maybe a fire pit🔥), kicking back in your own cozy chair or blanket,🍂 enjoying something great to snack on, and even better fellowship with other Catholic teens!

We have one more summer study meet-up after tonight's in Floyd Co. outside on a host family's farm, and that is next Monday, August 31st! (It's certainly not too late to join in either tonight or next Monday! Just come! Email us at [email protected] for the details.)

Canonized one year ago this September, Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati is the inspiration behind our name, as he is the patron saint of students and young adults, of adventure ("VENTURE The Bible Timeline for High School" is our initial study this summer), as well as hikers, and is known as “A Man of the Beatitudes”. "To the Heights" is for high school students, grades 8 and up. We hope to see you soon ...Verso I'alto!

Hey High School!

I hope you all had a great 4th of July and have been getting some time to slow down this summer and chill!

There has been a slight change of plans from the schedule. We will be meeting this Wednesday from 6pm-7:30 at the Church! Because it is supposed to be so hot, and there is no swimming at the Cove, we will be having pizza and a playing a game involving WATER BALLOONS at the parish! It will be a lot of fun, so be sure to come out! Wear clothes you don't mind getting wet and bring towel. Hope to see you there!

Hey High School!

Our second summer event is this Wednesday, July 1st! We will be meeting at the Church for a short time of Adoration (thanks Fr Andrew!). After that, we will head over to get ice cream! This is also for those of you heading to college this year. Feel free to come! If you want to go to evening prayer at 5:30, I'll be there as well. Hope to see you all there!

Peace,
