🍎 Welcome Back, Roanoke City Students! 🍎

Today marks the beginning of a brand-new chapter.

As you walk through those school doors, remember this: You were created with purpose. You were designed for greatness. Your future is being built one day, one lesson, and one decision at a time.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Don’t be discouraged by setbacks. Don’t compare your journey to anyone else’s. Your story is uniquely yours, and every challenge you overcome is preparing you for something greater.

Walk into this school year with confidence, kindness, courage, and determination. Believe in yourself even when the work gets hard. Someone is counting on the leader you are becoming.

The Marcus M. Wilson Scholarship Fund is cheering for every student across Roanoke City. We believe in you, and we know your best days are ahead.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

Have an incredible first day, and make this your best year yet!

The Marcus M. Wilson Scholarship Fund would like to wish all students, teachers, administrators, staff, and families in Roanoke City, Roanoke County, Salem, Vinton, and Franklin County a wonderful start to the 2026–2027 school year!

A new school year is a new opportunity to grow, learn, and become the person God has created you to be. There will be challenges along the way, but don’t let them define you. Stay focused, work hard, ask for help when you need it, and never stop believing in yourself.

Remember, your education is one of the greatest investments you can make in your future. Every lesson learned, every assignment completed, and every goal achieved brings you one step closer to your dreams.

We are praying for a safe, successful, and inspiring school year for every student.

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” – Proverbs 16:3

Have an amazing school year!
