Because of your generosity and support, we were able to collect and donate an incredible amount of canned goods, non-perishable food items, hygiene products, and household cleaning supplies to families in need within our community.

Your donations will help make a meaningful difference for individuals and families facing food insecurity and other daily challenges. We are truly grateful for everyone who contributed, volunteered, and helped make this effort a success.

Happy Spring!

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Beta Chi Omega Chapter members Marylen Harmon and Donna Williams planted lettuce, onions, cabbage and other cool weather plants at the Carver Gardens. Through our sorority’s Enhance Our Environment program initiative, we encourage everyone to contribute to their community and home gardens to reduce negative environmental impact and promote sustainable agriculture.

Today, we participated in Lincoln Terrace Elementary School’s Reading Day event! 📚

Our chapter members had a phenomenal experience reading to the children and illustrating our sorority’s mission to cultivate & encourage high scholastic standards.

We were joined by local NPHC organizations and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc Theta Phi Chapter at Virginia Tech University.

On this day, we did more than step pretty.. We made a FIRST move that secured the legacy.

On January 29, 1913, led by the visionary and fearless Nellie M. Quander, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® became officially incorporated and protected. Sister Nellie’s leadership ensured that what our Founders built would not only last, but be preserved with intention, structure, and foresight.

This was legacy protection in real time. This was a woman seeing ahead, standing on business, and safeguarding the future of our sisterhood.

113 years later, we are still benefiting from that bold decision, built on Principle, Preservation, and Perpetuity.
