Said goodbye to PNG. It has been so great hanging out with these guys!

Zach Cann’s dad just passed away and he will be traveling to the states for the funeral as well as his sister’s wedding. Please pray for his family, especially his mom.

Cassidy Cann is currently up in the villiage with a few ladies from her home church cleaning the new house, unpacking and organizing everything. Pray everything comes together well and that the house I helped build will be a wonderful home for their family as they finish their translation work in the coming years.

🏔️🏠 Brett has been back up in the mountains working on the house for the past 6 days with the missionary’s Zack Cann and Bryan Twombly. They have been doing more work on the homes systems. Here Brett is installing drain pipe for the washing machine, and on the roof they are putting in “gutters” for water catchment. They are also putting up wall paneling, installing kitchen and bathroom cabinets etc. The hope is to have the Cann’s house ready for move in sometime in June!

🚁Brett and the missionaries were scheduled to get picked up by the helicopter this Thursday, but their usual helicopter pilot has informed them of mechanical difficulties! 😳😬🫣😭 They are trying to find another helicopter that is available to come pick them up, but so far there’s nothing available. The alternative is to hike over the mountains about 2 days, then take a small boat around the coast back to Madang (missionary base)

🙏🏻 PLEASE PRAY some helicopter comes available! If not, that they will have a safe and uneventful hike. They can hire some natives to carry their bags, but they don’t have any sleeping/camping equipment. And it’s rainy season: apparently a pretty good rainy season!

If they make it out of the mountains in a timely manner, Brett will leave the missionary base to return home to TX on April 2. God Willing😅

Brett flew 🚁 back up into the mountain village 🏔️ yesterday. They made it safely! They’ll be up there the next 10 days working on installing cabinets and fixtures in the kitchen and bathroom 🚽, running gas lines for hot water 🛁, and finishing a few other plumbing things.

Pray everything continues to go well! Travel has been good and Brett has stayed really healthy so far! Pray for his, and the missionary’s who are with him to stay safe and be in encouraged in their productivity.

Since the rest of the team left and went home to TX, Brett has been hanging out at the missionary base camp. They’ve had him cleaning out a large shed and organizing it. Now he’s working on putting in electrical wiring so that it is more useful and can possibly be used as another living space down the road.

Life with the missionaries seems pretty laidback. He eats meals with them, plays with the kids, and goes swimming most days. We are praying that this will be a sweet time of relationship building, as well as a time of introspection and self examination for him as he seeks the Lord’s will for his life.

Pray for his family at home too! We are really missing him as he’s been gone 1 month, and has one more month to go!

He’ll be flying back up into the mountains again in about a week for another intense 10 days of finish work on the missionary’s house. They’ll be putting together and installing the cabinets and as much other finishing work as possible to get the house ready for the Canns to move in. Pray all goes well and and that their family has a welcoming home ready in just a little while so that they can return to translation work and church building in the mountain village!

Helicopter ride back from the mountain village down to the missionary base on the coast. The Countryside guys have left to go home, and Brett will have a couple weeks to do handyman stuff around the base. In a few weeks he and the missionaries will fly back up to the village to start putting the kitchen cabinets together and getting the house ready for the Canns to move in!
