The Metallurgical Coal Producers Association (MCPA) is proud to announce the signing of a national Alliance Agreement with the U.S. Department of Labor's Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).

Formalized during MCPA's 2026 Annual Conference, this alliance reflects a shared commitment to advancing miner safety, promoting industry best practices, and fostering collaboration across the metallurgical coal sector.

Safety remains the foundation of our industry, and this agreement positions MCPA among a select group of organizations nationwide working directly with MSHA to strengthen training, education, outreach, and health and safety initiatives.

As the national voice of the metallurgical coal industry, MCPA is committed to ensuring our miners return home safely at the end of every shift while continuing to support the critical role metallurgical coal plays in steelmaking, infrastructure, manufacturing, and American economic strength.

That’s a wrap on the 2026 Metallurgical Coal Producers Association Conference & Expo at Stonewall Resort.

The final day of the conference featured strong conversations on the future of metallurgical coal, energy, regulation, and the evolving political landscape impacting the industry. From executive panel discussions to legislative and regulatory outlook conversations, this week brought together leaders from across the region committed to advancing an industry that remains essential to steelmaking and economic growth.

Thank you to all of our speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees for making this year’s conference such a success. We appreciate everyone who traveled in to be part of an outstanding few days of collaboration, networking, and industry leadership. Another great evening at the Metallurgical Coal Producers Association 2026 Conference & Expo at Stonewall Resort.

After a full day of industry discussion and networking, attendees wrapped up the day with dinner, awards, games, and plenty of friendly competition. Congratulations to all of this afternoon’s golf and sporting clays winners, as well as tonight’s raffle and auction winners!

A strong start to the Metallurgical Coal Producers Association’s 2026 Conference & Expo at Stonewall Resort.

This morning’s sessions brought together leaders from across the metallurgical coal, steel, energy, and mining industries for important conversations on resilience, safety, and the future of met coal. Attendees heard presentations from industry experts and federal leaders, including discussions on steel demand, energy policy, and mine safety.

One of the highlights of the morning was the official signing ceremony recognizing MCPA as an Alliance Partner with MSHA — an important step forward in strengthening collaboration and advancing safety across the industry.
