Summer Camp 2026 - Nantahala Outdoor Center, Bryson City: Troop 144 had a big week this past week traveling to Bryson City. We went ziplining, played on a tree top obstacle course, and tackled a rock climbing wall on Monday morning, then we were white water rafting by Monday afternoon. We had 3 cool guides that told us cool stories about the area while we paddled down the Nantahala River. On Tuesday, we had a fly fishing lesson with Daniel Boone at the Nantahala Fly Fishing School at the most beautiful and peaceful location that you could imagine. We finished up the trip on Wednesday with a wilderness survival class that reinforced the boys knife and fire-building skills, as well as learning how to build a shelter from just the natural surroundings. Wednesday afternoon provided some free time to explore, so we headed to the Great Smoky Mountain Train Museum where the boys completed a scavenger hunt and watched the afternoon train return. It was a short, but busy week, and I believe everyone had a blast!

December 13, 2025 - Wreaths Across America ceremony...Troop 144 participates in Wreaths Across America every year at the Veteran Memorial in Cedarwood cemetery. They work together each year in November to collect donations for Christmas wreaths to place on Veterans gravesites. They have hopes of one day getting enough donations to place one on all the veteran gravesites including those in Crestview.

Liberty on Main: Independence Day was a success for Troop 144 - it was hot, but the boys represented Troop 144 well.
