Most runners think drills like A-skips and B-skips are just warm-ups… but they’re actually teaching something much more important.
Running is mostly single-leg support. That means every stride depends on how well you can control your body in one position—this is where being “stacked” matters.
A-skip = learning to find that stacked position (ribs over hips, over your foot).
B-skip = learning to keep it while you move.
Stay stacked → better control each step → cleaner running mechanics.
If you’re noticing instability, knee discomfort, or just want your running to feel smoother, start paying attention to these positions—not just mileage.
Save this for your next training day, and if you want help breaking down your own running mechanics, I offer free running form assessment to show you exactly what’s showing up in your stride.
