Honoring Tim “Rock” Raines Sr.

On August 30 in Sanford, Florida, the Florida Minority Baseball Association (FMBA) had the distinct honor of celebrating Baseball Hall of Famer Tim “Rock” Raines Sr. A true hometown legend who rose from Seminole High School to the pinnacle of Major League Baseball, Raines was recognized for his extraordinary career and his enduring legacy both on and off the field.

Why We Honor Those Who Came Before
Honoring our trailblazers is more than a nod to history—it sets the benchmark for the future. When young players see a local legend who stood where they stand, worked through the same Florida heat, and achieved world-class greatness, success stops being a distant dream and becomes a tangible path.
