Thank you for 13 years of partnership and service to our community 💖
On behalf of the Board of Directors and Founder & Executive Director
After thoughtful reflection and planning, the Refugee and Migrant Women's Initiative (RAMWI) ’s Board has voted to conclude the organization’s operations in May 2026.
For 13 years, it has been our honor to walk alongside refugee and migrant women and families. We are deeply grateful for the trust placed in us and for the partnerships, friendships, and community that grew from this work. Together, we built spaces of learning, healing, leadership, and belonging. That legacy will always matter.
As ongoing policy changes continue to impact the refugee and migrant communities and increasingly limit our ability to serve communities in ways that feel safe and effective, the Board believes this is the right time to bring this chapter to a close with care and responsibility. We are committed to completing our work with integrity and ensuring a thoughtful transition in the months ahead.
Between now and May 2026, we will focus on referrals, transition planning, and fulfilling all remaining responsibilities with transparency and professionalism.
To every donor, partner, volunteer, and community member: thank you. Your support made it possible to serve thousands of women and families through culturally responsive health education, mental health advocacy, leadership development, and community integration efforts. The impact belongs to all of us.
While this marks the end of one season, it is not the end of the relationships, values, or commitment that brought us together. We look ahead with hope and confidence in the strength of this community and in the many organizations continuing to serve refugee and migrant women with dedication and compassion.
Thank you for being part of the RAMWI story.
With deep gratitude,
RAMWI Board of Directors and Florence Ackey, Founder & Executive Director
