Safe Haven Adaptive Response Program [SHARP] is addressing the unfavorable climate condition in Freetown that impacts residents in the poverty stricken communities of Freetown . We are addressing the climate impact with a sustainable solution by providing disaster relief, access to quality education, sustainable agriculture programs and relocation of families to safe climate areas. Our goal is to
ensure that no one in Sierra Leone suffers from annual flooding. We hope that our disaster response and climate disaster mitigation programs serve as an example for other programs around the world that address the impacts of climate change on at-risk communities and ensure resilience for all humans. We hope to achieve this vision in Sierra Leone through the expansion of our programs. We plan to build villages for two thousand homes [2,000] within 20 years, a new Safe Haven Village, which will relocate families out of flood zones, and permanently resolve climate induced poverty for thousands of residents. As of 2021, we have already secured 50 acres of land, and the 2,000 homes vision will relocate 15,000 people from the disaster prone area to higher, flood-safe grounds.
