We are enthusiastic about the future of the Foundation and of Rising Star, Texas and we hope the community will be enthused as well, as our plans become reality. We welcome community support and input. Plans are underway for an open meeting forum for community input.

Our hearts have been warmed with the dollar amounts of auction contributions, donations, and raffle entries to support the fund-raising efforts. And that says nothing of the gracious spirit exhibited by our community.

The chili supper and ensuring auction raised $14,855.40 and the Vacation Drawing made an additional $2,665.00. We have applied for a grant to repair and replace the roof but foresee a need for much more to fully restore the building.

*ROOF UPDATE*
As many of you are aware, our roof sustained significant damage in May 2025. With the generosity of many in our community, a temporary roof repair was completed in December 2025. We would like to thank our past donors for their contributions and also
give thanks to our recent donors.

A new roof for a more permanent solution is needed as soon as funding is available. We are exploring options with grants, but are in need of donations to save our historical building for the community. Please check back for upcoming community events planned to help raise money to repair and preserve our Higginbothams Center.
