A day of learning, reflection, and teamwork at AVANCE!
This morning, all AVANCE teachers from La Coma, Rio Vista, and Early Start Academy in Rio Grande City; AS Canavan in Roma; and Dora Martinez in Zapata participated in professional development focused on collaborative teaming, relationship building, schedules, routines, and classroom activities.
A big thank you to Ms. Kimberly Perez, Ms. Daisy Garcia, and Ms. Christin Garcia for leading this meaningful learning experience! Teachers were engaged and reflective as they explored ways to strengthen teamwork and create supportive, intentional learning experiences for our children.
In the afternoon, AVANCE Early Head Start teachers from La Coma and Rio Vista in Rio Grande City, AS Canavan in Roma, and Dora Martinez in Zapata explored a day in the life of an infant or toddler. They examined daily schedules and personal care routines, connecting everyday moments—such as feeding, diapering, and transitions—to meaningful opportunities for learning and relationship building.
A big thank you to our Instructional Coaches, Ms. Ariana Salinas and Ms. Yvette Hinojosa, and our Lead Instructional Coach, Ms. Nina Benavides, for guiding our teachers through this afternoon’s learning and reflection!
Thank you to our teachers for your thoughtful participation and commitment to continuous growth. Your dedication helps make every part of a child’s day an opportunity to connect, learn, and thrive!

🎉⚽ Rio Vista Early Head Start – Balls Case Study Celebration! 🏀🎾

What a fantastic day we had at our Rio Vista EHS Balls Case Study Celebration on Wednesday, July 15th! We were excited to welcome so many parents and families who joined us for an afternoon filled with fun ball games, hands-on activities, laughter, and learning alongside our amazing little learners.

Thank you to all of our families for your participation and continued support. A special thank you to our dedicated Rio Vista EHS staff and everyone who helped make this event such a wonderful success. Together, we’re creating meaningful learning experiences and building lasting memories for our children! 💙✨

🚂💺✨ Celebrating Our Creative Curriculum Study: Seats! / ¡Celebrando Nuestro Estudio del Currículo Creativo: Los Asientos! ✨💺🚂
At La Coma EHS, our children have enjoyed exploring our Creative Curriculum Study: Seats! Throughout this study, children investigated different types of seats, their purposes, and how they help people in everyday life. Through hands-on activities, dramatic play, art, books, and discussions, children developed their creativity, problem-solving skills, language, and critical thinking. We also created meaningful connections to our classroom train station, where children explored the importance of seats in transportation and community settings.

We are proud of our young learners for their curiosity, imagination, and enthusiasm throughout this exciting learning experience. Thank you to our families for supporting their children’s growth and learning every day!

¡En La Coma EHS, nuestros niños disfrutaron explorando nuestro Estudio del Currículo Creativo: Los Asientos! Durante este estudio, los niños investigaron diferentes tipos de asientos, sus usos y cómo ayudan a las personas en la vida diaria. A través de actividades prácticas, juego dramático, arte, libros y conversaciones, los niños desarrollaron su creatividad, habilidades para resolver problemas, lenguaje y pensamiento crítico. También realizaron conexiones significativas con nuestra estación de tren en el salón, explorando la importancia de los asientos en los medios de transporte y en los espacios comunitarios.
