Dec 1938 to Dec 2015: 75 Annual Performances (except for 1942-44 during WWII)
How special the Pageant was to all of us. Please enjoy the beautiful and meaningful poem written about the Pageant by a Pageant Family member (who wishes to remain anonymous).
IN MEMORY OF THE RICKREALL CHRISTMAS PAGEANT
As neighbors and friends they came together
They didn't really care about the weather
It was something that happened every year
Just as Christmas was about to grow near
They shook hand and hugged as they greeted one another
And looked towards the director as if their mother
With props and make-up, a costume or two
They knew exactly what they needed to do
For seventy-five years their commitment was true
As they told the story to me and you
They stepped on the stage and took us back in time
And we forgot everything else that was on our mind
There were sheppards and neighbors and kings and queens
And they meant what they said in every scene
The choir sang with a heavenly sound
and the joy they felt was all around
The room fell silent when the manger appeared
It was a sight they all held in their hearts so dear
Now the tradition has come to an end
The pain in their hearts is not pretend
So many years they shared the story
About how Christmas started in all its glory
Never forget the lesson that was taught
God's love is more precious that any gift that can be bought
