Now in its fifth year, the Richmond Alumnae Panhellenic Association is partnering once again with Jill’s Blankets. We’ll work together to cut and tie fleece throw blankets for cancer patients—sharing fellowship while giving back to our community.

Good Morning Chi Omega Sisters!

We hope that you are having a wonderful holiday season! Here are some updates and some upcoming volunteer opportunities!

Please consider joining the fun with the Richmond Area Panhellenic to assist with Jill’s blankets. Here’s the information for this event:

Volunteer Opportunity:

What - Jill's Blankets - making fleece blankets for folks going through cancer treatment

When - Saturday, January 20, 2024

Where - St. Giles Church, 5200 Grove Avenue

Time - 9 a.m. - Noon



For the second year, the Richmond Area Panhellenic Association plans to participate in a group volunteer project. We will meet to cut and tie fleece blankets for Jill's Blankets. It is a fun and productive way to give of your time. Several sororities last year had enough ladies to sit and work together around a table. Let's get enough Chi O's do that this year! Adrienne Long and Trish Ackerman attended last year and agreed it was a few hours well spent.



The event is open to anyone so feel free to bring a daughter/friend/neighbor.

I am happy to share that one of our very own RVA Chi Omega Alumni Chapter sisters (Rachel Beanland) is featured in the Summer Eleusis on page 10! Here is the link in case you don't have your physical copy close by:

Our book group really enjoyed discussing her debut novel, Florence Adler Swims Forever. Her second novel, The House Is On Fire, was released in April and has already received rave reviews. The Washington Post described it as a masterful and gripping work of historical fiction about the tragedy of Richmond’s theater fire in 1811.

Please join me in offering a sincere congratulations to Rachel Beanland on all of her amazing accomplishments!! If you have not already, check out her books!

The RVA Chi Omega Alumnae Chapter Ornament exchange was a success! Thank you to all those who attended - It was a time of food, fun, and fellowship! It was so much fun to connect with sisters from all different chapters now in RVA. I see some amazing XO owl ornaments too! Happy Holidays!
