Highland Park is one of the neighborhoods that the City has identified as a special "node" - and this means that we have an opportunity to shape how the City spends money and makes plans for our future development as part of the Richmond 300 Master Plan.

Come by the Ann Hardy Community Center anytime between 10am-12pm on Saturday to learn more about the Master Plan and share your thoughts about how Highland Park should look as we develop and grow over the next 10 years.

At our Neighborhood Holiday Crawl in December, we were thrilled to present our very first Community Engaged Citizenship Award! Our inaugural recipient was Hannah W., whose dedication and leadership have made a lasting impact on Highland Park.

In 2025, Hannah led a months-long effort to bring together the City of Richmond, Richmond Tree Stewards, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and dozens of volunteers to donate and plant over 30 new trees along 3rd & 4th Avenue and the streets near the Tot Lot. From documenting our neighborhood’s need for increased tree canopy, to organizing and guiding the planting event, to ensuring the trees were watered and thriving throughout the year, Hannah was there every step of the way.

Her work will be felt for generations, quite literally, as future neighbors enjoy the beauty, shade, and cooling benefits of these trees for hundreds of years to come. 🌱💚
