Attention all my amputee friends, PT friends, PTA friends, PT Students, Prosthetist Friends and future Prosthetist, (Isaac Yoder), Mark your calendars now for April 27, 2019. Here is a hint and a tease about a special event founded by yours truly (me, Robin Pugh Yoder), along with the help of my Team of Earth Angels, Mission Gait, Sportable and special friend, Cosi Belloso. We have put together a unique day of education, skill building, sport, recreation, networking and fellowship activities geared exclusively for the lower limb loss, Amputee community. Discover Your Possible is a 1 Day skills and activity clinic that will happen right here in Richmond, VA! Not to give too much away but the highlight of the day is our guest speaker, Cosi Belloso owner of Palanca Physical Therapy, a prosthetic training specialty clinic in Tampa, Florida. She is also the host of the always lively and informative Wednesday evening Facebook Live show, Cosi Talks. The morning session will be all instructional. Cosi, with the help of volunteers (local Physical Therapists & Physical Therapy students who will buddy-up with the amputee participants) will guide the participants through a series of drills and exercises that are the foundation to successful prosthetic gait. The morning session will conclude with a Live, Cosi Talks Question & Answer Panel Discussion that will consists of Cosi Belloso Moderator, Joe Sullivan Co-Owner & Prosthetist of Powell Orthotics and Prosthetics, David Lawrence, Founder of Mission Gait, Sportable and Me (amputee and Founder of Discover Your Possible). This will for sure be spirited & informative! The afternoon will be all about the Joy of Discovery of Your Possible by way of multiple Break-out sessions exploring the adaptive sports and recreational resources available in the Greater Richmond area....More to come later. All of this for a small registration fee of $20 (lunch and snacks included)!!
