Meet Beti and Junior!

What a milestone! Junior was born on April 3, 2025, at the newly rehabilitated Ioananen Clinic, marking the first birth in over three years!

This clinic's revamp brought toilets, showers, secure water, and top-notch hygiene, giving Beti the best chance for a safe delivery.

Fast forward to today, nearly 300 patients visit and 10 newborns are delivered monthly!

Huge congrats to the Tanasul community in Southwest Tanna for their incredible work!

This is incredible work by the staff at the Port Vila hospital.

Phenomenal.

It showcases the dedication of the healthcare providers in Vanuatu even when understaffed and the facilities lack adequate resources.

The Ministry of Health is tasked with a lot and we at the S*T Project partner with the local clinics within the Ministry of Health's network to help ensure clinic workers have the best chances to provide the care their patients and community needs!

While Vanuatu Hospital was extra busy over Easter weekend, the Ioananen Clinic had a busy first month, 5 children were born at the clinic in the first two weeks of the project being completed and staffed!

These are the first children born at the clinic in over two years.

Meet the women of Tanasul. They are the backbone of the community, they are the "roads" that join the various villages into one single community.

They are quiet and powerful, humble and forcefully. Without these women, we could now do our work. And everything we do is to provided them and their children opportunity.

Meet the men of Tanasul. Each day, dozens of abus (grandads), popas, and sons join together for their community.

They know this work is for their wives, daughters, and sisters. They show up to learn. This system is new, and person puts their trust in US. They want to learn how to save the lives of their wives, daughters, and mothers. This transfer of knowledge is how we work. It is truly from the bottom up.

This kind of work, this community commitment, is the way of life here in Vanuatu. It demonstrates the deep bonds each person HERE holds for each other.

Work like this happens everyday, often it is to build a kustom (local) house or kitchen, or work garden.

This work is not for money. Only about 1 in 100 has a paying job. They work for their community. They work to better their community.

Here Sista Linda collects mangos from the tree above her home.

Our work is to support this beautiful way of life. We work to provide clean water and toilets that keep people moving. We work to ensure clinics are capable of serving their communities and schools are able to teach all children.

As we’ve been reminded so many times, it is the simplest things that make the biggest impact. Like how a mango, freshly picked from the tree, is somehow the sweetest thing you’ll ever taste.

So, let us pause today, remember the wonders and abundance we have, and be grateful for the opportunity to work towards a better world for all.
