Part 2. We hiked a mountain, over 2000 ft in elevation. Started the day with breakfast, went over the plan, stretched with some Qi Gong exercises and then got to moving! Thanks to REI for the gear (can we get a few walking sticks for next year, pretty please!). Thanks to our friends Mr Will & Mama Alycia for coordinating.

Part 1 of our 3 day, 2 night youth camping retrear at for grades 5-8. This is the culmination of a series of year long Forest Days with Cultural Roots & . We do this because we believe that young people should have opportunities to not only learn outdoor skills but also have a little whimsy, fellowship and rest in nature. Much love to our friends and parents for believing the same and assisting/ facilitating.

After the moving on ceremony, it was time to play..... hard. Tug of war, youth vs parent kickball, water balloon fight, & sack races.
A wonderful old school field day, a time was had!

Another moving on and graduation ceremony in the books. This year we welcomed our keynote speakers, .tucker & both seniors who have been with Cultural Roots since day one. We are wishing everyone a wonderful summer break and beautiful bright futures to those moving on to higher/alternate education.

❤️ Cultural Roots is the perfect friendship. Both organizations strive to prioritize the principles of sankofa & unbuntu. Grateful to Mama Amma for coming by and immersing the youth in the food, dance, language and traditions of Ghana. Much more to come this fall for our youth. Now, go join their monthly dinner series!
