Richmond Area Holiday Train Season Starts Soon!!!

The Fall is usually the busiest time for Model Railroading, especially between Thanksgiving and New Years. 2025 has more model trains than every.

TRAIN SHOW
The Virginia Train Collectors Association will have their Holiday Train Show on Friday November 21st from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Saturday November 22nd from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in the former Joanne's Fabric store at Westchester Commons (125 Perimeter Drive). Westchester Commons is at the intersection of VA Route 288 and Midlothian Turnpike in western Chesterfield County. If you are interested in selling, attached is a reservation form.

This is a good opportunity to check out the different scales of trains that you can have at your home and learn more about the hobby. Train Shows are a good place to pick up either a full set of trains for the beginner or that special piece you want to add to your collection.

MODEL TRAIN DISPLAY

The VTCA's Train Depot at Stony Point Fashion Park will open on November 14th.

This is the new home for the VTCA's nine train layouts of different scales as well as a children's play area. Our displays include Garden (G), O, S, HO, and S Gauge operating layout that have been custom-built by members of the VTCA for you to enjoy.

Stony Point Fashion Park is located just south of the James River and the Willey Bridge off of Chippenham Park. Access Chippenham from Parham Road on the north, the Powhite Parkway or I-95 on the South. The Fashion Park has several places to dine as well as shop.

When coming into Stony Point, the Train Depot is located at the west end of the Fashion Park adjacent to Dillards, CineBistro, and Lenscrafter.

If you are coming north on Chippenham, take the Stony Point exit, then at the light at the bottom of the hill take a right. Stay in the left lane and go straight through the next two lights and proceed about 2/5 of a mile with the apartments on your left and the Fashion Park on your right. Take the third right into the Fashion Park parking lot (this is on the south side of the Park) and go to the concourse opening at Lenscrafter. The Train Depot is next to Lenscrafter.

If you are coming from Parham Road to Chippenham, take the first right exit after crossing the Willey Bridge, follow the road past the apartments on the right around the curve and take the first exit on the left. Go to the concourse opening at Lenscrafter. The Train Depot is next to Lenscrafter.

The Train Depot at Stony Point operating hours will be:

Date Time
Friday, November 14th 4PM-8PM
Saturday, November 15th 11AM-4PM
Saturday, November 22 11AM-7PM
(Stony Point Tree Lighting starts at 5 pm on Saturday)
