On Friday, October 9, RCF Connects is turning the historic California Theatre in Pittsburg into an R&B celebration with Pagers & Promises: An R&B Pop-Up.

For three hours, DJ G-Money of In The Mix will keep the R&B flowing, with Christina Kenney — Emcee Inhergy — hosting the evening.

Fundraising doesn’t have to feel like a fundraiser. And while we’re dancing, we’re investing.

Every dollar raised benefits Equity for Black Women & Girls (E4BWG) and its work to expand economic opportunity, entrepreneurship, community support, and leadership for Black women and girls in Contra Costa County.

Through programs including Sistas SOAR, Sister Circles, and Embodied Leadership Coaching, E4BWG is creating spaces where Black women and girls can build businesses, strengthen connections, grow as leaders, and pursue economic power.

As Taylor Sims, Senior Director of E4BWG, puts it:
“E4BWG exists to change that math, and this is a night where funding that work feels like a celebration instead of an obligation.”

The 2nd Annual Laughs for Change, a comedy and storytelling fundraiser taking place Thursday, August 6, at the Galileo Club in Richmond, California
Sponsored by Kaiser Permanente.

The event will be featuring acclaimed Bay Area comedian Marga Gomez, Diane Amos and Beau Davis, a Bay Area three comedic/storytelling powerhouses. Proceeds will support RCF Connects’ equity-focused community programs serving Richmond and Contra Costa County.

This event kicks off with an open mic showcase of local Bay Area talent in a high-energy, community-rooted evening.

Open mic performers comedians, storytellers, poets, and singer-songwriters will each take the stage for five-minute sets in a segment called Stories of the Bay. Throughout the night, audience members get to vote for their favorite open mic performer with their dollars – all donations go toward RCF Connects. The winner crowned The Laughs for Change Open Mic Champion 2026. Every voting dollar fuels RCF Connects’ community programs.
