Last week the Independent Practitioners section held an amazing workshop led by Jill Vaughan, APR of JLV Communications about “Profit First” business management by Mike Michalowicz. During this event, the IPs learned about how to assess the health of their business, implement the “small plate” method, establish consistent financial habits, and identify hidden costs.

Connecting with fellow IPs in the Richmond area through events like this is a great benefit of your chapter membership. To stay in the loop for future IP events, be sure to update your “Groups” within your member profile. We look forward to seeing you at the next event!

Cheers to 80 years PRSA Richmond!🎂

Today marks 80 years of service, leadership and impact. For eight decades PRSA Richmond has continued to advance the public relations profession across the commonwealth.

To honor this remarkable milestone we pay homage to the generations of communications professionals that helped shape the chapter and strengthen the PR profession across Virginia to what it is today.

We thank everyone who has supported the chapter over the years and look forward to continuing our legacy for another 80 years! 🎉

At our May Luncheon had an impactful discussion with Dr. Cayce Myers, APR, on the current trends and issues of AI seen in public relations. During the conversation, we covered a range of topics that are shaping the field such as the shift to Answer Engine Optimization(AEO) to the rise of deskilling related to AI training, and much more.

Even though AI continues to evolve, Dr. Myers reminded us as public relations practitioners that the human element of PR remains indispensable to our practice.

A huge thank you to Dr. Myers and everyone who joined us for this amazing discussion.
