On 14 September 2025 the 1/311 TsBn HHC held the Change of Responsibility ceremony in honor of outgoing First Sergeant Fatima Breland who relinquished responsibility to Incoming First Sergeant James Ratcliffe.

A unit’s First Sergeant is the backbone of any unit—guiding, mentoring, and ensuring that every Soldier is prepared for the challenges ahead. Their leadership shapes the culture, boosts morale, and holds the unit to the highest standards.

As 1SG Breland hands over the reins to First Sergeant Ratcliffe, we know that the legacy of excellence will continue.

Our OC/T team was on the ground turning up the heat with some high-speed TCCC training! From Tourniquets to trauma lanes we brought the intensity! 📦 Med kits? Packed. 🧠 Knowledge? Dropped. OC/Ts? Ready to do what we do! It wasn’t just training - it was full-contact learning experiences, and our troops showed they’ve got what it takes to keep their teammates alive when seconds count. Big shoutout to the instructor, role players, and our newly certified/re-certified team!

‘Tis the season to be an OC/T Cavalier’❤️💚Happy Holidays from the 1/311 TsBn 💚❤️

Jose N. Harris is credited with saying, "Don't train until you get it right, train until you can't get it wrong". This quote is especially important in the OC/T world.

Completing Saber Academics ensures our OC/Ts are better equipped to serve as US Army Reserve partners and prepares them to be able to assist in future unit assignment training.

Special thank you to the 4th Cavalry Multi-Functional Training Brigade for ensuring we continue to sharpen our OC/T skillsets.

Congratulations to all our Cavalier graduates!

Honoring All Who Served - Happy Veterans Day from the 1-311th TSBN

The Cavaliers partnered with the 237th Engineer Company of the Army National Guard to execute OC/T missions while observing their reconnaissance and demolition operations. This collaboration was not a swift endeavor; the 1-311th had been engaged with the 237th Engineer Company for six months during Battle Assembly weekends leading up to Annual Training.

After the completion of Annual Training, CPT King-Allen, SFC Johnson, and SFC Bennet delivered an AAR to the 237th Engineer Company. This AAR serves as an invaluable resource, offering commanders a clear snapshot of their unit's current operational readiness. It will be instrumental in shaping and refining their future training as they prepare for deployment to Finland.

We are grateful for the opportunity to have our OC/Ts conduct missions between Annual Training, especially with local units eager to enhance their mission-essential tasks throughout the year.

The Siege of Petersburg: The Longest Military Event of the Civil War. Nine and a half months, 70,000 casualties, the suffering of civilians, U. S. Colored Troops fighting for freedom

The Petersburg Campaign lasted 292 days. It began on June 15, 1864, when Union troops crossed the James River and attacked Confederate defenses to the east of Petersburg. It ended on April 2, 1865, when Confederate troops withdrew from Petersburg and Richmond.

Unlocking the talents within autism leads to discoveries that can change the world.

Did you know Elon Musk announced that he was on the autism spectrum while hosting the show, “Saturday Night Live,” in May 2021. More specifically, he stated that he was “the first person with Asperger’s” to host the show. Musk is one of the world’s richest people with a net worth of more than $150 billion.
