🇺🇸 Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday Through Art & Fashion

As we commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the United States (1776–2026), this breathtaking couture gown reminds us that patriotism can be expressed in many forms.

Designed by Kate Wasserbach Moore of Abel Honor New York, the gown is handcrafted from luxurious ivory silk satin with flowing red-and-white stripes inspired by the American flag and a bodice adorned with crystal stars. Created in New York’s historic Garment District, it is a beautiful tribute to the courage, freedom, and enduring spirit of the American people.

As Daughters of the American Revolution, we honor the legacy of the Patriots whose sacrifices secured our independence—and we celebrate the generations who continue to preserve and express America’s story through art, history, and craftsmanship.

Boonesborough Chapter, NSDAR Dedicates America 250 Marker, Celebrates 130 Years of Service

Members of the Boonesborough Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), commemorated two significant milestones on July 17, 2026, by dedicating an America 250 DAR Revolutionary War Patriot Marker at the original site of Fort Boonesborough in Fort Boonesborough State Park and celebrating the chapter’s 130th anniversary.

The America 250 DAR Revolutionary War Patriot Marker honors the men and women whose courage and sacrifice secured the nation’s independence and serves as a lasting tribute as the United States marks the 250th anniversary of its founding.

The dedication ceremony featured remarks by Kathy Moats, Regent of the Boonesborough Chapter, NSDAR; Julia Hood, State Regent of the Kentucky Society Daughters of the American Revolution (KSDAR); and Rick Allen, Fort Manager of Fort Boonesborough State Park.

Among those in attendance were the Rev. Robert Blythe, Mayor of Richmond; Dean Whitaker, President of the Society of Boonesborough; Reagan Taylor, Madison County Judge/Executive; Tom Botkin, Madison County Magistrate; Brian Combs, Madison County Magistrate; Tom Botkin, Madison County Magistrate; chapter members; and guests from across the region.

Following the dedication, attendees gathered for light refreshments and fellowship as they celebrated the 130th anniversary of the founding of the Boonesborough Chapter, NSDAR. Established in 1896, the chapter has spent more than a century promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism in the community.

Today the Boonesborough Chapter of the DAR unveiled their new historical marker celebrating the 250th Birthday of the United States. This marker located inside the original fort site area honors the early pioneers of the fort and their contribution to the western theatre of the Revolutionary War. 🇺🇸❤️🙏

Don't forget to register for the 2026 Summer Workshops. The postmark deadline for mail-in registration is July 20th, while the deadline for on-line registration is July 26th. The registration forms are on the KSDAR website and were sent via "constant contact" email from our Corresponding Secretary, Amanda Tilsley.

When she recently visited Mackinac Island, Michigan, Boonesborough Chapter member Stacey Street happened upon the marker honoring Revolutionary War Patriots placed by the Michigan DAR in 1931. The marker is situated directly in front of the fort originally built by the British that was captured by the patriots.

Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

Today we celebrate 250 years of American Independence (1776–2026) and honor the extraordinary courage, sacrifice, and vision of the Patriots who secured the blessings of liberty for future generations.

As members of the Daughters of the American Revolution, we proudly remember their legacy through historic preservation, education, and patriotism.

May we always cherish the freedoms they fought to secure and strive to preserve them for generations yet to come.
