✨ Board Member Spotlight: Ariel Futch ✨

Ariel Futch is originally from Peachtree City, Georgia, and moved to Richmond Hill six years ago to be closer to her husband’s family, who have deep roots in Bryan County.

A devoted wife and mother of two energetic children, Ariel loves being involved in the community, spending time with her family, and supporting organizations that make a meaningful impact on local families. Whether she’s volunteering, cheering on community initiatives, or enjoying time outdoors, Ariel is passionate about giving back and helping others.

When she’s not working, you’ll often find her on the water boating or fishing with her family.

We are grateful for Ariel’s dedication, heart for service, and commitment to making Bryan County a better place. Thank you, Ariel, for serving alongside the Good Friends of Bryan County Board! 💙

“Together, we’re making a difference—one family, one project, and one act of kindness at a time.”

I’m looking for a few extra hands for a quick, one-hour helping project for Good Friends of Bryan County.

We are making 40 handmade holiday centerpieces for our December luncheon, and we’ve discovered the most efficient way to assemble them takes two people working together—one applies adhesive with a caulk gun while the other places the pinecone clusters onto the forms.

By myself, one centerpiece takes about 6 hours. With a helper, we can complete one in about an hour, so it makes a huge difference!

I’m looking for anyone who might have just one hour to spare to help move this project along. Crafters, friends, neighbors, or even parents of teens needing community service hours are all welcome. It’s simple, hands-on, and very straightforward—just helping squeeze adhesive and assist with placement.

If you’re willing to help for an hour, please comment or message me with your availability, and I’ll coordinate a time that works.

Thank you so much for supporting a fully handmade community project for our December holiday luncheon!

Good Friends of Bryan County have been hard at work creating this year’s luncheon centerpieces, (with the help of talented craftsmanship) and we are so excited to finally share a little sneak peek. ✨

So many volunteer hours, creative hands, and loving details have gone into each one over the past several months. These are more than just centerpieces — they are something truly special, made with the hope that they will continue bringing joy long after the luncheon is over as guests take them home.

Each one is unique, and once they’re gone, they’re gone… so be sure to keep an eye out at this year’s luncheon information to know how to get your hands on one of these ( trust me, YOU will be glad you did ) 💛

✨ Meet the Board: Lora Minton ✨

We’re so excited to introduce one of our incredible board members, Lora Minton!

Lora and her husband, Steve, are blessed with a beautiful family of five children and 23 grandchildren and great-grandchildren—what a legacy of love! A retired middle and high school teacher, Lora has called Richmond Hill home for the past five years.

When she’s not serving our community, you can find her staying active with her church’s women’s ministries, enjoying walks, playing pickleball, exploring new places, watching baseball, reading, or sewing.

Lora first attended a Good Friends of Bryan County Luncheon in 2024 and was instantly inspired. From the meaningful mission to the uplifting atmosphere—all accomplished in just ONE hour—she knew she wanted to be part of something so special.

“I feel extremely grateful to have connected with the caring women of Good Friends of Bryan County and its heartfelt mission—which I believe is truly making a positive difference in our local area.”

We are so thankful to have Lora’s heart, passion, and dedication on our board 💛
