Great news: the Ataraxia Duo performance with harpist Jennifer Ruggieri and cimbalomist Matthew Coley is rescheduled for Sunday, May 17 at 2pm at the Richland Center Seventh-day Adventiat Church! They, and their premiere of RCA board member and Richland Center native Logan Willis' work Nachtlied, will close out RCA's 60th anniversary season. See you there!

Our next concert is coming up this Sunday! The Ataraxia Duo will be performing on cimbalom and harp, and will be performing a brand new work from RCA board member and lo cal composer Logan Willis! He and RCA Board President Dr. Dale Sinnett appeared on WRCO's Morning Show on Tuesday to talk about the work and concert.

The premiere performance is Sunday, March 15 at 2:00pm at the Richland Center Seventh-day Adventist Church. Tickets can be purchased at the door:
$15 per adult for one concert
$50 per adult for a season ticket
$80 for a couple’s season ticket
Free for all children and students

The second part of the Morning Show on March 10 featured Richland Concert Association President, Dr. Dale Sinnett and composer Logan Willis. Logan will be performing soon in concert for the Richland Concert Association.

The Richland Concert Association welcomes pianist Elizabeth Vaughan in her performance with clarinetist Abbey Atwater!

Elizabeth Vaughan is a sought-after soloist, collaborator, and pedagogue in the Chicago area. With degrees in vocal, viola, and piano performance, Dr. Vaughan has performed alongside members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra as well as faculty members of Northwestern University and Roosevelt University. She is also a member of the Chicago Symphony Chorus and the Florentine Opera Company Chorus. In 2023, Vaughan was a winner of the University of Wisconsin concerto competition with her performance of Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3. She teaches piano at Beloit College and lives in Rochelle, Illinois with her daughters, Heather and Iris, and her two cats, Luca and Tiger.

The Richland Concert Association welcomes clarinetist Abbey Atwater for her first performance with RCA!

Abbey Atwater is a Chicago-based clarinetist originally from Waukesha, WI. She began playing clarinet at age eleven and has had many significant musical accomplishments. She has advanced to the semi-final rounds in national clarinet auditions held by the Hartford Symphony, Arkansas Symphony, Lexington Philharmonic, and Fort Wayne Philharmonic. Solo performances include Carl Maria von Weber’s Concertino with the Waukesha Area Symphonic Band and Michael Daugherty’s Brooklyn Bridge with the Lawrence University Wind Ensemble. Abbey was also twice named as a finalist in Lawrence University’s Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, and was a runner-up in Temple University’s Student Soloist Competition. She has attended acclaimed music festivals including the Pacific Region International Summer Music Academy, Monteux School and Music Festival, and National Music Festival. Abbey has performed with many ensembles in the Midwest and Philadelphia regions, including the LaCrosse Symphony, Wisconsin Philharmonic, Wheaton Municipal Band, Chicago Clarinet Ensemble, and Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony. Additionally, Abbey has performed in master classes for renowned artists such as Julian Bliss, David Shifrin, Stephen Williamson, John Yeh, and Imani Winds. A graduate of Temple University, Abbey completed her M.M. studying under Paul Demers of the Philadelphia Orchestra. She previously received her B.M. from Lawrence University where she majored in clarinet performance, studying with David Bell, and minored in psychology and woodwind pedagogy. Previous teachers have also included Dan Roberdeau, Orlando Pimentel, and Rose Sperrazza.

We are now just a week out from our fourth concert in our 60th Anniversary season! This concert features clarinetist Abbey Atwater, a Chicago-based clarinetist originally from Waukesha. Collaborating with pianist Elizabeth Vaughan, their program boasts a six-piece excursion across the 19th and 20th centuries, featuring standards of the clarinet repertoire, favorites from Gershwin, and operatic showpieces. It is a performance not to miss!
