Leilani has faced a long and difficult battle with leukemia, relapsing for the second time in February. She recently underwent a transplant and has spent months in the hospital receiving treatment.

Living in Tyler, Leilani’s family has faced significant expenses traveling back and forth for her care. Her father has also had to drastically reduce his work hours to be by her side, creating additional financial strain.

Live Like Luke is honored to help ease some of that burden so Leilani’s family can focus on what matters most—being together and supporting her through this fight.

Meet Egypt. Egypt was born with complex congenital heart disease and has spent nearly a year in the hospital after undergoing a biventricular repair in New Orleans, where he and his mother are from. In June, Egypt was transferred to Dallas in hopes of receiving a heart transplant, but a devastating neurological injury has changed his medical journey and he is no longer eligible for transplant. Throughout this difficult time, Egypt’s mother has remained by his side, staying at the Ronald McDonald House and unable to work due to the demands of caring for her son. She is now working to rebuild stability in Dallas while navigating new employment and housing. Live Like Luke of Texas was honored to provide assistance to Egypt’s family, helping ease some of the financial burden so his mom can continue to focus on what matters most—being there for Egypt.
