A heartfelt thank you to Ava from NBC4 Columbus for covering the March for the Missing and for shining a light on missing persons and their families. Your compassion, professionalism, and commitment to telling these important stories help keep our missing loved ones in the public eye and remind families that they are not forgotten.

We are grateful for your support and for helping raise awareness for those still searching for answers. Thank you for caring and for giving a voice to the missing and the families who love them.

The families of missing Ohioans marched the streets of west Columbus on Saturday with posters of their loved ones in hand. https://nbc4i.co/4uTYGRr?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook_NBC4

Today, I had the honor of giving testimony in support of House Bill 217, the Andy Chapman Act. This bill would require law enforcement agencies to enter missing person reports into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) if the individual is not located within 30 days.

The bill also prohibits local law enforcement agencies from destroying physical missing person files until they have been fully digitized and submitted to the state database.

You can find more information about the Andy Chapman Act here:

I have also linked the video from today’s Senate hearing.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this bill thus far! Let’s get it passed!
