Incredible staff retreat—check! ✅

We slipped away to the beautiful Highlands, NC for a few days of chasing waterfalls, hiking scenic trails, enjoying delicious meals, and dreaming together about the future of Healing Center International.

More than anything, we left refreshed, encouraged, and grateful. It was a sweet reminder of God's faithfulness and what a gift it is to serve this incredible community together.

Thank you for being part of the HCI family. We're excited for all God has in store!

Sometimes the hardest moments reveal what we've been learning all along.

When my granddaughters learned that their 8-year-old friend had died, their grief came pouring out in cries, questions, and heartbreak. In that moment, I realized that years of studying grief had prepared me to simply be with them—and to gently help them make sense of what they were feeling.

In this post, I share that experience, along with practical insights on how children grieve and how we can walk with them through loss.
