Reston Triathlon

This olympic distance triathlon based in Reston has been an integral event in the Reston community for since 1984. During COVID-19 the previous group running the event worked tirelessly to keep the tradition alive but sadly announced in 2021 that they could no longer financially and logistically sustain the triathlon. ve this event and continue the legacy of the Reston Triathlon. The Reston Triathlon will make its comeback debut on September 10, 2023 and annually going forward on the first Sunday following Labor Day. The Reston Triathlon opens with a 1500m open water swim in Lake Audubon and is followed by a 25 mile bike and a 10k run on Reston paths. CORE Foundation is grateful for the overwhelming support received while pursuing the opportunity to revive this community tradition for 2023. We believe that the addition of this event will create a stepping stone for our athletes as they expand their personal goals.
