⚖️ WRRS 2026 Speaker Spotlight ⚖️

We're pleased to welcome Judge Egan K. Walker, Chief District Judge for Nevada's Second Judicial District Court, as a featured speaker at the Western Region Reentry Summit 2026.

Appointed to the bench in 2011, Judge Walker has served in both family and general jurisdiction courts, presiding over matters ranging from child welfare and specialty courts to adult criminal and civil cases. His work has consistently emphasized problem-solving approaches, judicial innovation, and collaboration across systems serving justice-involved individuals.

Judge Walker currently serves as Co-Chair of both the Nevada Juvenile Justice Oversight Commission and the Nevada Guardianship Commission. A respected leader at the state and national levels, he is a frequent presenter on specialty courts, behavioral health, and cross-system collaboration.

Prior to joining the bench, Judge Walker served as a Deputy District Attorney in Carson City and Washoe County, prosecuting complex and serious criminal cases. His unique background also includes service as a Registered Nurse and military service as a medic, flight medic, and nurse with the Army National Guard and Army Reserves.

"Designed for Women: Healing-Centered and Gender-Responsive Reentry"

Most reentry systems weren't built with women in mind. Join Felisa Bryant, Executive Director of The IF Project for her presentation on Healing-Centered, Gender-Responsive Reentry and Judith Negron and Demetrice Morris from The Ladies of Hope Ministries for their presentation on Empowering Women Through Hope-Centered, Gender-Responsive Solutions.

Between them, they will explore healing-centered and gender-responsive approaches that address trauma, family reunification, housing, identity, and other challenges women face after incarceration.
