Troop 1847 Annual After Burn Trash and Gear Fundraiser

Whether you’re a first time participant or an experienced burner, being prepared will be your key to enjoying your time. Being prepared for the playa is important. Often times the weather is windy, dusty and for sure dry. Drink plenty of water and eat salty snacks! Scouts are always prepared, do the same! When the fun is done, please leave no trace! Pack out all your trash and gear! Troop 1847 will be available to take all of your trash for cash, recycling and additional gear, non-perishable food! Troop 1847’s goal is to make the event more sustainable for you and serve our community! Thank you! Come see us on Mill St and McCarren!

Troop 1847 Leave No Trace reminder:
Single serve food items are a wonderful way to survive the Playa. Please be diligent on all those tabs you rip off! They are easily lost! Make a plan to keep all little items of trash contained! Keep the Playa pristine for everyone!

Once again we will be accepting trash, recycling, used camping gear, non-perishable food and household items! See you soon!

Hello Burners! Countdown to the 40 year anniversary event is on! Our amazing Troop will be collecting trash, recycling, food, water, camping gear and other usable items once again this year! This will be our third year for your after burn needs! Come by see us! Help conserve our resources and keep our local areas clean! man

The weather is getting hot here in Northern Nevada! What are your plans for Burning Man? It’s a dry and dusty, usually windy locale. One of the most important things to ensure you have a great time, is staying hydrated! A minimum of a gallon a day! What are your plans for water? A camelback or other water carrying pack is the best way to always have water! A 5 gallon jug with a faucet is more useful than a bunch of water bottles. Take time to plan for your water needs!

And again this year, Troop 1847 will be available for your trash, recycling and camp gear drop off.

Troop 1847 of Reno is in the planning stages for our annual fundraiser!
Shout out to all the Burners beginning their planning! Last year we kept a lot of useful items out of the landfill! Think of us again this year for your trash disposal and so much more! We kept it local, where it helps the most! Thank you!

An example from last year of what DID NOT go in a landfill! This bin included spray paint, face masks, an air filter and eye wash. The bin of useable items was donated to our local Habitat for Humanity!

options for transportation, camping supplies and a final drop off for all trash, recycling and gear!

Some more items the Troop received from our Burning Man fundraiser! Items were spray paint, fire extinguishers, face masks, zip ties and air filters to name some of the items. These items did not go into a land fill, they were donated to our local Habitat for Humanity resale store where they will help raise funds for local projects! Thank you Burners! Leave No Trace! Do a Good Turn!

Our Troop fundraiser was a success! We more than doubled the trash taken in from last year! Met a lot of nice people!
Below picture is non-perishable food and toiletries saved from the trash. The items were donated to Hope Community Church for their food pantry! Their food pantry provides Bags of Hope to deliver to homeless community members in need of food, TP and water. They also deliver bags to schools weekly for kids to take home so they have food to eat over the weekend! Thank you! ❤️

And that’s a wrap! Troop 1847 Annual Trash and Gear fundraiser is in the books! We took in trash, water, non-perishable food and gear! We met a lot of nice people over the weekend! Austria, Berlin, NY, Georgia, Austin, Texas Brazil and Germany to name a few. Everyone was very appreciative we were taking donations of usable items!
