The Reno Posse

The Reno Posse We are a group of volunteers, founded in 2015 by Jane Dunn. We prepare, assemble and distribute healthy meals to some of our unhoused friends here in Reno.

Our operation functions 100% from donations received from caring people in our community.

I didn't get the camera out in time to catch all of the fruit we received from Project 150. They shared bananas, tangerines and a lot of grapes! This is such a treat for our folks because we hardly ever get fresh fruit. Thank you Project 150!!!

Well it was definitely an interesting Wednesday. On the good side of interesting we received a large donation of Bombas socks and two large boxes of sweatshirts from Liz at Project 150. We also received some additional sweatshirts and sweatpants from KT Grace.

On the down side, our freezer has stopped working correctly and we had to throw away about 12 containers of prepared spaghetti. If anyone knows a good refrigerator repair person please share!

If anyone is looking to donate, our friends very rarely get fresh fruit and only certain fruit is appropriate. Those bags of mini tangerines....or Cuties are an awesome way to get fruit to our folks. We serve 150 people per week so if anyone is interested.

Another Wednesday and another 150 people who get to eat.

It has been a busy winter so far but every Wednesday, thanks to our many volunteers, we have managed to get 150 meals out to our friends who need them. We have also been so lucky to receive warm clothing donations from many individuals and Projecr 150. Today, thanks to a donation from KT Grace and the Jeremy Renner Foundation, we will be distributing hoodies and sweatpants.
As always, thanks to all of the many people who support us, both with donations and time. We appreciate every one of you!

As we've gotten into the holiday season, we have been so lucky to receive warm clothing donations which our friends greatly appreciate.

Thanks to Project150 for sharing some warm coats that weren't appropriate for their use and also to KT Grace for some great chicken packets this week!!

Here are a few pics of our wonderful volunteer servers hanging out at one of our drop off points.

As always, thank you so much to everyone who donated food items and money, and thank you to all of our volunteers who manage to keep all of the moving parts functional!

Luckily we have had a pretty pleasant fall so far. I want to thank Liz at Project150 for sharing items that they are unable to use. This week, thanks to them, we are able to distribute quite a few sweatshirts for our unsheltered friends.

Thank you also to our volunteers who have taken the apples that we receive and turned it in to applesauce.

This is our last week of serving chicken salad as we transition to spaghetti. I realize that so many people are food insecure right now, but we can always use donations of dry pasta, canned pasta sauce or canned veggies.

Thank you to all of our doners and all of our fantastic volunteers.

I've been quite remiss in the photo department. My apologies but we have all been busy getting our meals out every week. We have received lots of fresh fruit for our friends and warm clothes are starting to roll in.

I want to thank all of you who donate time, supplies, food and cash. There are so many generous donors helping us keep this little non-profit running.

I would like to extend a special thanks to Faith Lutheran Church here in Reno and Pastor Shaun for donating snacks and drinks and bringing us more volunteers.

Another Wednesday under our belt and 150 people not going hungry today. Thank you everyone!!!!

Wow! So much generosity in our community. One of our Posse brought in blackberries and grapes. Fresh fruit is such a treat. We also have to thank Project150 AGAIN for sharing their Bombas loot with us and remembering us when they have clothing that is not appropriate for their clients. Our guests appreciate all of it so much.

Our GoFundMe is still active so if there's anyone you would like to share it with please pass it along. We still have quite a ways to our goal.

Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers who cook, assemble and deliver every single week....rain or shine. Today it was rain and thunderstorms. We appreciate everyone!!!

A huge thank you to Project150 for sharing some of their Bombas loot with us. They were nice enough to donate 25 pairs of new socks.

We were short handed today but our meals got out to our unhoused folks as usual! One of our great volunteers brought her two grandchildren and they worked SO hard and were just great. It takes a village.

Another Wednesday and 150 more meals distributed. Some of our friends have been asking for socks. We received a few gently used pairs which we handed out today. If anyone is interested in donating socks...new or gently used, they are greatly appreciated all year long.
