Every year on July 28th, the global health community comes together to recognize World Hepatitis Day, a critical reminder that viral hepatitis remains one of the world’s most persistent and preventable public health challenges.

Despite major advances in vaccination, testing, and treatment, millions of people continue to live with hepatitis B and C without knowing their status. This silent burden leads to chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, and liver cancer—conditions that are often detected too late.

On World Hepatitis Day, we are reminded of a simple but powerful call to action: Test. Vaccinate. Treat. Eliminate.

Public health professionals, clinicians, policymakers, and communities all play a role in ensuring that hepatitis prevention and care are accessible to everyone, everywhere.

Smoke can impact more than visibility, it can affect your breathing, energy, and overall well-being, even if you're healthy. As wildfire season continues, staying informed and making small adjustments to your daily routine can help reduce your exposure and protect those around you.

Stay aware, check on neighbors and loved ones, and follow guidance from local health officials as conditions change.

Stay safe, Nevada.
