There is strength in community—and healing in movement.

Project HERO is changing lives by bringing veterans and first responders together through adaptive cycling and outdoor recreation. This program goes beyond fitness—it’s about restoring purpose, building resilience, and addressing the invisible wounds so many carry.

🚴‍♂️ Since its inception:
• 2,600+ adaptive bikes provided
• 10,000+ riders impacted
• 600,000+ hours of therapeutic riding

These numbers tell a story—but the real impact is even greater.

Veterans face serious challenges including PTSD, anxiety, sleep disorders, and isolation. Tragically, far too many struggle in silence. Programs like Project HERO are stepping in to change that—offering connection, peer support, and a path forward.

🇺🇸 FIT BUT NOT FORGOTTEN 🇺🇸

Our veterans have given so much—this is one small way we can give back.

The City of Reno is proud to offer FREE weekly fitness classes for veterans through the Fit But Not Forgotten program. Whether you’re looking to build strength, improve flexibility, or simply reconnect with a supportive community, this program is designed with you in mind.

📍 Held at the Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center
📅 New sessions begin at the start of each month
💪 Includes water fitness, yoga, and tai chi
🎯 Focused on proper technique, fitness assessments, and goal setting

Even better—upon completion of all four classes, participants may qualify for a FREE one-year facility membership.

This program is made possible through the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System and continues to serve those who have served us.

That’s a wrap on our Spring Range & Rally — and what a day it was. 🇺🇸🎯

We want to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who came out, competed, volunteered, and supported this event. From the paper target competition to ringing steel, the day was filled with camaraderie, friendly competition, and a shared commitment to something bigger than ourselves.

Congratulations to all of our participants and prize winners — and a special thank you to those who helped make the event run safely and smoothly.

Range & Rally – Shoot for a Cause 🇺🇸

The Reno Battle Born VFW Post 9211 is inviting veterans, friends, and our entire Northern Nevada community to join us for a day at the range that supports a mission that matters.

On Saturday, April 18, we’re hosting our Range & Rally Shooting Event at the Regional Shooting Range in Reno, and every round fired helps support our Holiday Food Basket Program, which provides meals for local veterans and families during the holidays.

Whether you’re a seasoned shooter or someone who has never stepped onto a range before, this event is designed to be fun, welcoming, and competitive.

What to Expect

🎯 Pistol Competition – Test your skills and compete for prizes
💥 Gatling Gun Experience – Available for those who want to try something unforgettable (separate cost)
🌭 Food at the Range – Come hungry
💧 Please bring your own water

Registration is $75 per participant, and the range opens at 8:00 AM.
