Sierra Nevada Journeys The new nature of learning: we help students achieve through outdoor science. We provide a variety of in-school, summer and residential programs.

Sierra Nevada Journeys is the leading provider of experiential education in Northern Nevada and Northern California. We believe in providing students not only with academic enrichment, but also the opportunity to become leaders and responsible caretakers of our natural world. The first week of summer day camp can tell you a lot.

If your child came home feeling overwhelmed by a big group at summer camp or a program that felt too busy, Sierra Nevada Journeys Summer Day Camp may be a better fit.

Our Reno and Sacramento day camps keep group sizes capped at just 36 campers, with low camper-to-counselor ratios so kids have more room to connect, ask questions, try new things and enjoy hands-on STEM and outdoor adventures.

Grown-Up Getaway Camp is coming August 14-16 in Portola, California.

This adults-only weekend includes classic camp activities, live music, creative workshops, meals, lodging and time under the pines with people who are ready to laugh, rest and reconnect.

It is also a fundraiser for Sierra Nevada Journeys, supporting outdoor science education for students across Northern Nevada and Northern California.

Today is the first day of Girls in STEM Camp.

Campers will spend the weekend learning from STEM professionals, exploring pond, garden and forest ecology, building friendships and trying activities that ask them to stretch, think and work together.

Family STEM Nights bring students, families and teachers together for hands-on science activities that are fun, welcoming and easy to enjoy after the school day. They are also a wonderful way to welcome families back to campus in the fall.

Girls in STEM Camp is almost here.

This weekend, middle school students will gather at Camp for hands-on STEM learning, outdoor exploration, team-building and mentorship from women working in STEM fields.
