A very special H4H visit to the Northern Nevada State Veterans Home.

Latte and Shahan were absolute stars as they helped create some truly magical moments with the residents. From mint treats to gentle strokes, the connections were quiet, powerful, and deeply meaningful.

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful volunteers Amy, Gerald, Ray, Jay, Bob, Rob, and Sue for helping make the visit so special. We are grateful to NNSVH for the opportunity to spend time with such an incredible group of veterans. Moments like these remind us exactly why we do what we do.

Proud moment out at the arena 🇺🇸

Our H4H Color Guard team, Shahan and Latte, had a great practice with riders Scott and Dwight. These horses continue to show up with heart, steadiness, and trust, demonstrating exactly what this work is all about. The wind was absolutely whipping out there, flags snapping loud and strong, but Shahan and Latte never wavered. Steady, grounded, and completely locked in with their riders. That kind of trust and partnership is something special.

So proud of this team and the partnership they’re building together.

What a great morning for Horsemanship for Heroes!

We’re incredibly honored to share that H4H received a $5,000 Walmart Spark Good Local Grant during the Grand Reopening of the Damonte store! We were proud to bring Shahan along to be part of the celebration. He was a huge hit and helped us connect with so many members of the community.

The event was truly special. The Walmart team was energized, welcoming, and full of pride for their store, and it showed in every interaction. We had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, share our mission, and feel the incredible support this community has for our veterans and first responders.

Thank you to Walmart Store 3277 for your partnership and generosity. The store remodel looks fabulous and we are so grateful to stand alongside you in supporting our Heroes.

From Scout Project to Hero Impact: Built with Purpose. Powered by Service.

Huge thank you to Scout Troop 7322 for building our new Confidence Course!

This course will play a powerful role in helping our Heroes strengthen their partnership with their horses as they navigate challenges, build trust, and grow in resilience.

A special thank you to Vinny DiLuna for choosing Horsemanship for Heroes for his Eagle Scout project. From design, to build, to installation, your dedication and heart for serving Veterans and Emergency Responders means so much to our entire community.

Well done - we are incredibly grateful!

Huge thank you to Tracey and T for the time, care, and expertise you’re pouring into this special horse. We are so grateful—and so excited for what’s ahead!

Our One-on-One Facilitator Training sessions are a space for growth on both sides of the lead rope.

These sessions are open to former participants and volunteers who want to re-hone their skills, deepen their connection, or simply spend intentional time with the horses. Each session is shaped by the individual, creating room for reflection, presence, and meaningful engagement.

For our Facilitators-in-Training, these one-on-one classes are invaluable. They provide the supervised hours required for certification while also offering the opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients—each bringing different goals, experiences, and ways of showing up. That diversity sharpens facilitation skills, builds confidence, and strengthens adaptability.

This is where learning becomes lived experience, where quiet moments matter, and where both people and horses continue to teach us. We’re grateful to everyone who steps into these sessions and helps grow the future of Horsemanship for Heroes. 🐴💙

WELCOME TO THE HERD, PASS!

We are thrilled to introduce “Passionate About Gold”—barn name "Pass"—the first horse that is officially registered to Horsemanship for Heroes!

Pass is a stunning palomino Gypsy Vanner gelding, generously donated by Golden R Heart Ranch right here in Reno, Nevada. With his golden coat, kind eye, and steady presence, Pass already embodies the heart of our mission and the power of the human–horse bond.

Please help us give Pass a warm H4H welcome—drop a 💛 or a 🎉 in the comments and help us celebrate this special new chapter!
