From Refugio Downtown Revitalization Guiding Coalition (RDRGC):

Thank you to everyone involved…. Town of Refugio, the Town Council and the Mayor for allowing RDRGC to sprinkle a little magic throughout downtown! Thank you to Simon McCloud from Refugio County Attorney’s Office for allowing RDRGC to utilize their collection of Christmas decor in the process. I’m especially thankful for Jason Suniga and the City Crews that made it all happen while putting up with all my requests and direction. 😳 (no comments you guys😂)They are the true magic behind it all. They ARE the army! Thank you to the county for allowing us use of their manlift which made the job less strenuous. Thank you to the city and to the Law Firm of Holmstrom and Cox for joining efforts with RDRGC in making our Christmas vision come true!🎄🎅
We hope you all approve and enjoy!❤️Ho! Ho! Ho!

Once again sharing my morning experiences at our “oh, so lovely park”. Thank you Commissioner Roy Payne and Pct 1 Crew. Y’all are doing fabulous upkeep at the park. I’m not sure why I find trains so fascinating. I have so many questions.🤔Where is it going, where has it been? How old is it? What is it’s story? What stories could it tell? How many train cars are there and what is in them? How much weight can it haul? What is it’s fuel? How long does it take to get up to full speed? What is full speed? How long does it take to come to a stop with that much weight? How many conductors are their and what is their training, certification and salary? What is the average career span of a train conductor? If you know, please enlighten me, inquiring minds want to know😉 I just wanted to share some beauty of our downtown area along with the mesmerizing and lulling experience it provides. Please take advantage of this quaint area for a pleasurable walk if you haven’t already, you’ll enjoy it! Hopefully, you’ll catch a train coming by on your walk!🚂🛤️🚂

Good morning Refugio Peeps! This morning Nellie and I took a walk early in the day. If you know me, you know this is VERY unusual for us, as I am extremely allergic to mornings! We thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful walk through the few blocks surrounding downtown. It was lovely! We will definitely do it again! Landscape was manicured, beautiful and peaceful, sky was clear and blue, birds were chirping, deer were grazing! Train in the distance……🧐well, sorta in the distace!🚂🤣Who knew that mornings have a lot to offer?! 🤣 Just wanted to share a few pics from this view of our treasured Our Lady of Refuge Church as it undergoes its renovation. We hope to see you guys out and about, as well! It was amazing🧡🖤

The members of RDRGC would like to put a kind request out to the public. We are wanting to create our own version of a Lighted Christmas Tree Forrest in downtown for the holidays. We cannot pull off this feat off without your help. We need “working” “lighted” artificial Christmas trees of various sizes. Non-working trees, unfortunately, are not of value to us. If you are upsizing, downsizing or find yourself having more trees than you need, please keep us in mind! Your generosity would be ever so appreciated! Help us, help you, make our downtown as beautiful as it can be!!🎄🎅❤️
