Mr. Casey's Animal Science classes and Veterinary Science class were able to get out and experience real world agriculture this week. The Animal science classes had the opportunity to visit The Behn Family Farm, Joe Meyer and Sons Farm and South Central Livestock Exchange to view livestock care and handling facilities as well as what goes into various aspects of the livestock industry. Thank you to RAHS Alumni and past FFA members Jodi Behn and Barry Engel for welcoming our students to their facilities and the information tour that went with it. It was great to see the blending of traditional methods and technology that exists in the animal industry today. Meanwhile the Vet Science class was able to visit Sunrise Veterinary Clinic where Haley and Dr. Jon Laukant shared some of the behind the scenes work and equipment that goes into keeping our pets and livestock happy and healthy. They were also able to share more information about careers in the veterinary medicine world.
The Reedsburg FFA and Agriculture truly thanks and appreciates the time and effort these wonderful community members took to share valuable, real-world experiences for our students.
