The CLTA China Bridge Delegation was warmly welcomed at The Beijing Foreign Studies University. Our round table discussion was productive for all of us. BFSU prepares students for careers using languages. They support the 101 languages of the countries with which China has diplomatic relations. If you are accepted to this university, your studies prepare you for a bright career in which you will use your language skills every day. learning

CLTA China Bridge Delegation Day 3:

🖼️ In the morning we visited the Shanghai Museum. There were many exhibits to choose from; this museum is enormous! We saw musical instruments, ancient seals (for documents) and jade. Did you know that the most precious jade is white?

🛍️In the afternoon, we went shopping on Nanjing Road. At the end of this road is the Bund, where you can see beautiful vistas of the Shanghai skyline.

🏙️We loved our day to explore this beautiful city.

🇨🇳✨ The CLTA China Bridge Delegation hit the ground running in Shanghai!

Guided by the incredible Feng Laoshi, Ivy, and Veronica, our 15 delegates experienced an unforgettable first day exploring one of the world's most dynamic cities.

🏫 We began with an inspiring visit to Hiba Academy, a Pre-K–12 school where 100% of students graduate bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural in both Mandarin and English. What a powerful example of multilingual education in action!

🌿 Next, we stepped back in time at the beautiful City God Temple and the stunning Yu Garden, a treasure dating back to the Ming Dynasty.

🏙️ From ancient history to modern innovation, our journey continued high above the city as we rode the world's fastest elevator to the observation deck of the third-tallest building in the world, taking in breathtaking views of Shanghai's iconic skyline.

🥢 The day concluded with a traditional Chinese banquet, giving us another opportunity to experience the rich culture and hospitality of our hosts.

As we returned to our beautiful hotel for a well-earned rest, we reflected on how grateful we are for this incredible opportunity to learn, connect, and experience Shanghai firsthand.
