Thank you to relatives and friends who step in.

Not everyone can donate.

Not everyone can volunteer.

Not everyone can foster.

But everyone can learn.

Learning about foster care helps break down misconceptions.

It helps us understand what children and families may experience.

It helps us become better neighbors, friends, coworkers, relatives, and community members.

And sometimes, awareness is the first step toward action.

Foster Parents Need a Village Too

Foster parents are often asked to say “yes” quickly.

Sometimes they receive a placement with very little time to prepare.

That’s why having a supportive community matters.

A meal.

A kind text.

A babysitting offer.

A listening ear.

A resource.

A simple, “I’ve got you.”

Supporting foster children also means supporting the people caring for them.

So if you know a foster family, don’t wait for them to ask.

Reach out.

Ask what would make this week easier.

A Child Is More Than a Case

Behind every case number is a child.

A child with favorite foods.

Favorite colors.

Things they love.

Things they’re afraid of.

Dreams.

Questions.

A personality.

A story.

Foster care should never erase the individuality of the child experiencing it.

That’s one reason dignity matters so much.

When we talk about foster care, let’s remember the human being at the heart of the conversation.

Back-to-school season can be exciting.

But for a child entering foster care, school may also mean navigating a new classroom, new teachers, new routines, and possibly a new community.

Having the basics can help remove one more worry.

A backpack.
School supplies.
Clothes that fit.
Shoes.
A lunchbox.

Sometimes support looks like helping a child feel prepared to walk through those school doors.

And sometimes support looks like simply understanding what a child may be carrying with them emotionally.

The Right Size Matters

Something as simple as shoes that fit can be a really big deal.

Too small hurts.

Too big makes it difficult to run, play, walk, and simply be comfortable.

And when a child is already adjusting to a new environment, not having basic necessities can add another layer of stress.

That’s why the little things aren’t really little.

Clean clothes.

Properly fitting shoes.

A toothbrush.

Pajamas.

A backpack.

They’re basic needs—and every child deserves them.

Because community doesn’t have just one shape. 🧡

Beautiful Chaos Foster Closet isn’t just about what’s inside our closet.

It’s about connecting with people.

It’s about building awareness.

It’s about helping our community understand what children entering foster care may experience.

And it’s about finding new people who want to learn, listen, and show up.
