At PATH Navigation Center, our mission is to serve individuals experiencing homelessness with dignity, respect, accountability, and support. We understand there have recently been discussions on social media regarding client services, and we want to provide clarification on how service suspensions and revocations are handled.
PATH operates as a behavioral-based program that utilizes progressive disciplinary measures whenever possible. Our goal is always to help individuals remain engaged in services while maintaining a safe environment for clients, staff, volunteers, and the community.
This means that rule violations do not automatically result in permanent removal from services. In many situations, clients may be temporarily asked to leave for the remainder of the day and encouraged to return the following day prepared to follow program expectations.
However, there are certain behaviors that may result in suspension or revocation of services, including but not limited to:
• Violence or threats of violence toward staff, clients, or visitors
• Physical altercations or aggressive behavior
• Possession, use, or distribution of drugs or alcohol on PATH property
• Repeated violations of program rules after prior interventions
• Behavior that creates an unsafe environment for others
PATH believes in accountability paired with opportunities for restoration whenever appropriate. In some cases involving substance use, services may be reinstated after the individual engages in treatment or demonstrates steps toward recovery and compliance with program expectations.
Our staff work hard every day to balance compassion with safety. We remain committed to helping those willing to work within the structure of the program and to treating every individual fairly and respectfully.
