It may not be summer yet but it's sure starting to feel like it! This is the time of year to remember to bring extra water on the trails, and know your limit in the heat. Plenty of things to see, even on a short walk - Nolde never disappoints ❤️

Did you know that Nolde Forest is part of the Berks Trail Challenge? This is the 7th year that the park has joined with the Reading Hospital Community Wellness Department (along with six other public spaces in Berks County). The program is free; registration link available in the comments.

Join the Friends of Nolde Forest this Saturday for a tutorial into all things hiking. Get the low down on what you REALLY need to succeed, from gear, to apps, to map reading skills. You'll have time to ask all your questions and then put your new skills into use out on the Nolde Forest trails with your instructor. You'll complete a 1-2 mile hike and leave feeling confident you can go out on your own the next time.

You couldn't ask for a more gorgeous day to get out on the trails! This was one of those weeks where I actually just had too many photos to share and I had to try and narrow down the list. No shortage of amazing things to see this time of year ❤️

Since the drizzle just doesn't seem to want to let up, I thought I'd remind everyone that sometimes rainy day walks are the most magical! I made this loop yesterday morning and the forest was just gorgeous. Hope you all enjoy your Memorial Day, whatever you do!

To all of my fellow warm-weather lovers out there - our time has come! At least for a few days :) It's a good time of year to start taking extra water out on the trails as you adventure. We're in a bit of a lull right now between spring and summer flowers, but the insects are starting to get interesting. Always something fun to find.

Another beautiful week in the park - so many things popping up along the trails. Come out for our free open house today from 2-4 PM and explore the mansion!
