🚑❤️ Happy Emergency Nurses Week! ❤️🏥

From the moment we arrive at the bedside to the moment we give report in the emergency department, EMS and emergency nurses are part of the same team.

We share the chaos, the long nights, the critical patients, the difficult calls—and the moments when teamwork makes all the difference.

That handoff at the ED door isn’t the end of one team’s job and the beginning of another’s. It’s a continuation of the same mission: taking care of our patients when they need us most.

To our emergency nursing colleagues: thank you for the professionalism, compassion, knowledge, and camaraderie you bring to every shift. We appreciate the partnership, the trust, the shared laughs, and the times we’ve had each other’s backs when things get tough.

From our EMS family to yours—thank you for being there.

Happy Emergency Nurses Week!

We may wear different uniforms, but we're all on the same team.

National EMS Su***de Awareness Day | September 25

Behind every uniform is a person.

EMS providers spend their careers showing up for people on some of the worst days of their lives. We see things that stay with us, carry stress that others may never understand, and sometimes become so focused on caring for others that we forget to check on ourselves.

Today is a reminder to check on your crew. Ask. Listen. Support.

If something doesn’t feel right, you don’t have to carry it alone. Reaching out isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s part of taking care of the people who take care of everyone else.

📞 Call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

And don’t wait for a crisis to check on someone. A simple “How are you really doing?” can open a door.

Take care of yourself. Take care of each other.

This morning, we gathered at City Park to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the courage and sacrifice of those who responded.

Thank you to our City staff, elected officials, first responders, veterans, and members of the community who joined us for this important remembrance. Your presence helps ensure that the stories, sacrifices, and lessons of that day are never forgotten.

Tonight, City Hall and the Reading Pagoda will be lit in red, white, and blue in remembrance.

Twenty-five years later, we remember. We honor. We will NEVER forget.

Today in City Park Reading city officials, representatives from the Reading Fire Department, the Reading Police Department, and members of the public gathered to pay their respects and honor all those who were lost on September 11, 2001.

Speakers include Mayor Moran, City Council President Donna Reed, Fire Chief Robert Leonard, Reading Firefighters Local 1803 President Mike Shoumlisky, and several others.

25 years later, we still honor our fallen brothers and sisters and we thank you for your sacrifice. Fire Marshal Jeremy Searfoss said it best: “This isn’t a job. It’s a calling.”

Never forgotten…

25 YEARS LATER, WE STILL REMEMBER.

Twenty-five years ago, on a nearly perfect September morning, our world changed forever.

We remember where we were.
We remember the fear.
We remember watching the towers fall.
But most of all, we remember the courage.

Box 8087.
Church Street & Vesey Street.

Hundreds of FDNY firefighters answered the call and ran toward the greatest emergency our profession had ever faced.

343 firefighters made the ultimate sacrifice that day.

And in the years that followed, many more first responders lost their lives to illnesses and cancers connected to their work at Ground Zero.

They climbed the stairs while others came down.

They ran toward danger because people were still trapped inside.

They did what firefighters have always done:

They answered the call.

Twenty-five years later, their sacrifice has not been forgotten.

Today, we remember you.

🇺🇸 September 11, 2001 — Never Forget.
