Have you improved your home, added a creative touch to your yard, or completed a project you’re proud of? We want to see it! And there are ways for businesses to participate too!

Projects do not have to be brand new—if you’ve completed an improvement you’re proud of, we’d love to see it! Before photos are optional, but encouraged.

🌱✨ Caring for The Phoenix ✨🌱

If you’ve driven or walked through the Washington Street underpass, you’ve seen The Phoenix—a beautiful landscaped area that welcomes visitors and residents alike. What many people don’t know is how it came to be.

Years ago, Councilman Louis Espinoza looked at what was little more than an overlooked stretch of ground and saw potential. Using his council funds and countless hours of his own time, he began transforming the area. Over the years, he has built retaining walls, installed benches, planted flowers, improved the landscaping, and maintained the space season after season.

Like its namesake, The Phoenix rose from something ordinary into something remarkable.

Today, it stands as a testament to what one person can accomplish through vision, dedication, and hard work. Along one of Rawlins’ busiest roads, it has become a place our community can be proud of.

This spring, Louis mowed and maintained the east side of the property while Uplift Rawlins mowed the west side and treated weeds in the paved areas. Since our organization began, we’ve been proud to help support the ongoing care of this special place, and we’re excited to continue partnering with Louis and his family in the years ahead.

And we need you too! This fall, we’ll be joining Louis for a community work day to build another retaining wall using materials he has already secured. Watch for details if you’d like to help continue this amazing tradition of beautification.

Thank you, Louis, for your years of dedication to Rawlins. We’re honored to help carry your vision forward. 💚

🌻🪻🌻Rob Roy, Rec Center Ball Fields, and Washington Park still have planters available! This is your chance to enjoy the beautiful weather and share a little color with our community!

👏💚💪 Thanks to everyone who came out for National Trails Day Clean-Up! We had over 30 volunteers come to clean-up the Continental Divide Trail south of town and to finish projects in downtown!

✔️ Picked up over 4000 pounds of furniture, metal, tires, discarded clothing and household trash south of town
✔️ Painted CDT Blazes and Kids Korner
✔️ Planted Depot Park Flowerpots
✔️ Work on Flower Pots & Flagpoles
✔️ Enjoyed food donated by Power Company of Wyoming & Great Divide Outdoors

Hope to see you all at the next community clean-up on July 6th! We will be focusing on the East Cedar/Higley area and any other in-town areas that need it.
