🫵Rawlins — we need your vote!

Help choose the new Uplift Rawlins Home of the Month / Business of the Month sign!

We received some wonderful designs and have narrowed them down to three finalists. A huge thanks to everyone who submitted designs. Now the community gets to decide which one will be displayed in yards and businesses across Rawlins! Feel free to share this post so more people in Rawlins can help choose the winner.

Help Design the Next Uplift Rawlins Signs! Folks around Rawlins are winning Home of the Month and Business of the Month by helping beautify our community — and now you can help shape what that recognition looks like!

Update: Uplift Rawlins members have pitches in for a small gift to thank the artists for their time and talents! The selected design will receive $100, and the two runner-ups will each receive $50 to enjoy!

Thanks to a generous donation from Bank of Commerce, Uplift Rawlins will be creating new, permanent signs that are more durable and made to last. We’re looking for a design — and that’s where you come in.

Design a sign that is:
- 24" x 18" in size
- Cute, inspirational, and something you’d be proud to display in your yard or business
- Designed so it can be routed or carved into wood and accented with paint
- Able to work for both Home of the Month and Business of the Month recognition
- Includes the Uplift Rawlins words or logo

How to enter:
Email your design to [email protected]
Submit by March 3
Include your name and age (all ages welcome!)
Multiple designs may be submitted

Uplift Rawlins will narrow submissions down to the top three designs based on creativity and how well the design fits the final sign materials. The community will then help choose the winner through a public vote. The winning designer will receive a beautiful plaque and public recognition for their achievement. Help us make something Rawlins will be proud to see in yards and businesses all over town.

The Meaning of Thanksgiving, composed by Damien Cesko

This year feels like an important moment to pause and really consider what the holidays mean
—past the routine, past the noise, past the expectations.
Everyone celebrates differently, sees the meaning differently, and lives it differently
… and that’s part of the beauty of it.
But today, right now, Thanksgiving to me means gratitude.

Gratitude for my family. Gratitude for my friends.
Gratitude for a community that continues to surprise me with its warmth, support, and humanity.
Gratitude for love, compassion, connection, and
the perspective that comes from slowing down long enough to appreciate them.

This year, I’m extra thankful for the people I get to be around
—when I actually have the time to slow down and enjoy them.
I’m thankful for the opportunities I’ve been given, the work I get to do,
and the chance to make even small differences through music, teaching,
volunteering, and everything else life has put in my hands.

It’s easy to get buried in responsibilities.
But today is a reminder of why we carry the load—and who we carry them for.

Thanksgiving
A moment to breathe past the chaos of life,
A pause from the weight of the day,
To notice the quiet beauty
That never quite fades away.

A day to be grateful, to gather, to see
The good that still lives in you and in me
