A heartfelt thank you to the Sturgis Lions Club for donating 17 Care Bags to patients at the Cancer Care Institute at Monument Health. 💙

Filled with blankets, notebooks, word puzzles and other comforting items, these bags will bring encouragement and support to patients during their cancer journey. We are grateful for community partners who help make a difference, one thoughtful gesture at a time.

A new book has arrived at Monument Health, and it was made with our youngest patients in mind.

Teddy Knights recently presented "Teddy Knights in Giant Trouble: A Guide to Becoming Brave" to Monument Health Foundation, a book designed to help children navigate their feelings while they're in the hospital.

What does it take to grow annual Foundation giving from $500,000 to over $6 million in just three years? For Brad Archer, M.D., Chief Medical Officer at Monument Health, it started with a simple conviction: physicians have to lead the way.

When Dr. Archer joined Monument Health in 2017, he saw an opportunity to strengthen the bond between the health system and the Black Hills community. He helped establish the Foundation Physician Leadership Group — a collective of physicians committed to demonstrating, through their own giving, that Monument Health is worth investing in.

The final total is in, and this community raised $106,350 for Children's Miracle Network during this year's Radiothon.

That funding directly supports the equipment that makes extraordinary care possible — including the NICU technology that helped CMN Champion Claire survive being born 14 weeks premature in 2008, and the transport incubator that surrounded baby Brielle during a medical emergency in 2025.

Monument Health has existed because of this community's trust and generosity. The CMN Radiothon is one of the most direct expressions of that partnership — dollars raised here stay here, caring for the region's most vulnerable patients.

To our donors, partners and everyone who amplified this year's campaign: thank you. Your investment in Monument Health is an investment in the health of every family across the Black Hills.
