Happy National Trails Day from the Badlands 🏞️
Trails connect us to the landscapes we love, and they also remind us how important it is to care for and preserve these places for future generations. Last year, the Badlands National Park Conservancy received a grant from AllTrails that will be used to replace the decking on the Castle Trail platforms, improving both safety and the visitor experience on one of the park’s most iconic trails.
Every project like this helps keep the Badlands accessible, memorable, and inspiring for everyone who visits. Thank you to all who continue to support and care for these incredible spaces.

From the Milky Way overhead to the quiet stillness of the prairie at night, these landscapes offer a rare chance to experience true darkness and wonder. We’re grateful for the opportunity to help share why protecting dark skies matters.

We’re proud to share that Dew Bad Warrior-Ganje has stepped into the Vice-Chair role with the Badlands National Park Conservancy.
A dedicated board member for the past two years, Dew brings a deep commitment to collaboration, community connection, and partnership-building.
β€œDew has a magical way of including every voice in the room when she leads facilitations and her presence makes us more aware and more connected to the work we do for the park.”
β€” BNPC Executive Director Marissa Marshall
We’re grateful for her continued leadership and the impact she brings to our work.

What if you could see the Badlands from every angle at once?
With Rings of Time, artist Dick Termes brings a new perspective to Badlands National Park, transforming its iconic formations into a spherical work of art inspired by time, light, and connection.
Supported by the Badlands National Park Conservancy, the new piece will be unveiled later this year and will soon welcome visitors with a fresh and new way to experience a timeless landscape.πŸŒ„

Spring in the Badlands means new life on the move. 🌼
Tiny steps, close by mom’s side, learning the rhythms of the prairie.
Today, we celebrate the mothers who guide, protect, and nurture the next generation. Happy Mother’s Day 🀍

Last week, we joined National Park Foundation in Washington, D.C. for Hill Day, standing alongside partners from across the country to advocate for the future of parks like Badlands National Park.
A key focus was the All for Parks campaign, a nationwide effort to restore trails, expand education, and protect wildlife. This momentum helps strengthen our programs, partnerships, and the visitor experience.
Whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth, your support helps ensure these places continue to inspire for generations to come πŸ¦¬πŸŒ„
