South Dakota’s Native candidates are looking for new ways to support Indigenous candidates and get the vote out in reservation communities. An organization representing them say voter apathy isn’t the problem — it’s overcoming decades of policy.

The Republican candidate for South Dakota’s sole Congressional Representative seat in the U.S. House is Marty Jackley. His Democratic opponent is Nikki G for SD.

Candidate Marty Jackley currently serves as the state’s Attorney General (not to be confused with the U.S. Attorney for the District of South Dakota which is appointed by the POTUS and is part of the federal government).

South Dakota also has two U.S Senators that represent in Washington D.C. The junior seat is up for grabs this year, between incumbent Republican Senator Mike Rounds and Independent candidate Brian Bengs. The three positions compose the state of South Dakota’s congressional delegation to Washington D.C., often playing key roles on Indian Affairs, Natural Resources or Agriculture related committees.

South Dakota Republican Attorney General Marty Jackley is running for the state’s U.S. House seat. He shares views on tech regulation, immigration reform, agriculture and more.
